In this class, you'll learn about many of our wild, edible plants!
Medicinal Plant Walks
Location: In or around Red Lodge, Montana
Join me for a 90 minute stroll and discover the amazing wealth of wild, delicious, medicinal, and fungal plants that you can enjoy as food and for better health. We will identify and talk about the culinary and medicinal uses of these amazing plants, rich in vitamins and minerals. Depending on the season, we may find some tasty mushrooms to identify as well. The walk is very slow with lots of stops to talk about the plants. We'll focus on native plants, as well how to ethically collect plants in the wild. If the group would prefer, we will focus more deeply on a few plants, rather than talking briefly about many plants.
Our time in the woods is precious and vitally important to our well-being. Spend 90 therapeutic minutes in nature - relax, unwind, recharge, leave your phone, computer, deadlines, and worries behind.
So come on out and learn about some of our local, native, and invasive plants that are tasty and healthy and growing all around us!Meet some plants you may have never considered to be edible, learn about drying plants and proper storage, as well as how to prepare these medicine packed beauties. Wild foods are what our ancestors ate and what we humans evolved to eat, so, if you aren’t already, it’s time to start indulging!*Walking distance will be less than one mile total.
